Dave Glowacz began working as an independent journalist in the early
1990s, writing for the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun-Times,
the Daily Herald, the Chicago
Reader, and national magazines. In 1998 he authored a non-fiction
paperback titled Urban
Bikers’ Tricks & Tips, which has sold over 25,000 copies
worldwide.
In 2007 Dave began working in broadcast media. His radio reports have
aired in Chicagoland on WBEZ-FM, WVON-AM, and public radio stations across
the U.S. Dave also received a 2010 Peter
Lisagor Award for in-depth reporting from the Chicago Headline Club.
Dave believes that Americansand Chicagoans in particularface
a crisis in self-government. He wants to broadcast the spoken word in
ways that rouse Chicagoans to become more active in their own government.
Whether over the air or on-line, Dave wants Chicagoans to hear voices
. . . voices that make them interested in and well-informed about decisions
made by invisible others that change how they live. Dave aims to arm Chicagoans
with the information that helps them affect those decisions, driving the
invisible others into the lightand even taking their places.
